The Water Resources Institute (WRI) of Cal State San Bernardino managed the garden from 2011 to 2017. WRI is a place that scholars, students, water leaders and community leaders convene to address the challenges and solve the problems related to the sustainability of our most critical of issues in the Inland Empire, water resources.
More than ever before, in the San Bernardino Valley, the Santa Ana Watershed and indeed in all of Southern California and the Southwest, water resource management, conservation and wise use will determine our capacity for quality growth and economic development. The WRI offers the ideal environment for ongoing progress.
The WRI is active in the scientific study, applied research, public policy analysis and the history of water resources. The institute was founded, in part, to be a repository for water resources-related material. The WRI hosts an extensive collection of books, historical, research, legal papers; technical database and other water resources related materials. A highlight of our entire collection is a series of papers of political leaders and others who have had a major impact on water resources policy.
With the mission of making water an area of distinction at CSUSB, the WRI set out to build partnerships to support the Inland Empire communities it serves. Since that time, the WRI has made significant progress in establishing itself as a regionally prominent institution. It serves as a regional hub for academics, students, political leaders, public policy makers, water professionals, businesses and environmental groups to get the latest water resource information and come together to exchange views.
